Dobwalls Adventure Park
The
Southern family welcome visitors to Dobwalls Adventure Park,
the family home for the past 46 years.
Little did they think when they bought the 80
acre farm in 1956, that one of the very ordinary fields on
what was a very ordinary farm would soon become one of the
most popular visitor attractions in the west country.
The Forest Railroad opened in 1970 with a
further half a mile of track opening in 1974. since opening,
well over 6 million passengers have safely travelled behind
the superb, sturdy and hard working locomotives over two very
different arduous and scenic routes, based on the Rio Grande
and Union Pacific railroads.
Trains on their own do not appeal to everyone,
but with a blend of both indoor and outdoor play areas, picnic
areas, wildlife art gallery and extensive woodland walks in
lovely and well maintained surroundings, the family hope that
visitors enjoy a great day out.
